Independent Consultants

Pit to Port Logistics

Specialist logistics consulting across the full pit-to-port chain: mine, road, rail, port, and marine — backed by decades of senior operational experience in Australia and internationally.

OUR VISION

From both sides of the chain. Your partner for the life of the project.

At Blue Ring Group, we've sat at both ends of the logistics contract — managing fleets on behalf of transport operators and overseeing those same fleets as mine-side logistics managers. That rare dual perspective shapes everything we do. We work alongside our clients from the earliest planning stages through to operational maturity, helping new projects reach market with confidence and ensuring existing operations stay efficient, competitive, and sustainable for the long term. We don't just provide advice — we share the responsibility for getting it right, and we're still there years after the first shipment sails.

OUR VALUES

What you can expect from us:

01

We live in the detail.

You can expect us to understand your operation at the ground level, not just from a report summary. We believe the right answer is always found in the detail, and we don't stop digging until we find it. When we walk your site, talk to your people, and review your numbers, we're not going through the motions — we're looking for the things others miss.

We own it.

02

You can expect us to take full accountability for our work — the advice we give, the plans we develop, and the outcomes we're part of. We don't hedge, we don't pass problems back, and we don't disappear when things get complicated. If we're engaged on your project, we treat it as our own.

03

We tell you what you need to hear.

You can expect honesty, even when it's uncomfortable. We won't dress up a problem to protect a relationship or soften a finding to avoid a difficult conversation. No nonsense, no spin — just a straight read of the situation and a clear view on what to do about it

04

We're partners, not just consultants.

You can expect us to be invested in your success beyond the scope of our engagement. We don't hand over a report and move on. We work alongside you, share in the thinking, and measure our success by yours — whether that's a project reaching first shipment or an operation running leaner than it did before we arrived

05

06

We find solutions others don't offer.

You can expect us to look beyond the conventional answer. Most logistics problems have a standard response — and often a better one. We draw on experience from both sides of the supply chain, across multiple commodities and geographies, to bring ideas and approaches that aren't in the standard playbook. If there's a smarter way, we'll find it.

We adapt, and so should your solution.

You can expect us to stay engaged as your operation evolves. Supply chains are dynamic, and the solution that's right today may need to change as markets shift, volumes grow, or new challenges emerge. We don't design something and walk away assuming it will hold forever. We monitor, question, and refine — because being a true partner means being ready to evolve alongside you, not just at the start of the relationship.

ABOUT

Operational expertise, not theory

Blue Ring Group is an independent consulting practice based in Perth, Western Australia, specialising in pit-to-port logistics, transport operations, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness for the mining and resources sector.

Our consultants bring senior leadership experience from major operations across the Australian resources sector and internationally. We have direct, hands-on experience across road haulage, rail, bulk port operations, and marine transshipment — spanning iron ore, lithium, mineral sands, grain commodities and more.

Our point of difference is rare: having sat on both sides of the commercial relationship — as transport operators and as mine-side logistics managers — our advice is grounded in what actually works at the operational level, not just what looks good on paper.

WHY BLUE RING GROUP

Both sides of the contract

Most logistics consultants come from either the mining side or the logistics side and some are just career academics. Our team have held roles from the shop floor to senior leadership in mining, rail, road transport, port operations, transshipment operations and stevedoring. We also hold the relevant university degrees — giving clients insight that goes beyond standard advice.

Our consultants have held P&L accountability as the shipper and have separately operated as transport operators serving those same mines. That dual lens is rare, and it shapes everything we do.

We have experience across road, rail, bulk port, and marine logistics in Australia and overseas.

We know different commodities and how they handle and the challenges they bring.

We have worked in in greenfield and brownfield operations in environments of change as well as steady state operations.

We have experience in project management, IT solutions, contract management, contracting, operations planning & operations execution.

We know who's who in the zoo. Our extensive network of industry professionals and organisations make us one phone call away from solving something we don't already know.
